Yeah, this photo session was a bit of a nightmare...Michael was doing so well, until they made us wait to get into a room at Picture People. He wanted to get out of the stroller and run around. They had a cool airplane prop for the kids to sit on and Michael was in love, but I waited to take him out of the stroller. They finally moved us to the room, where Michael REFUSED to let me take him out or even unbuckle the stroller. He started screaming and kicking which is very uncharacteristic of him. After some coaxing, I got him out of the stroller, where he wrapped himself around me and wouldn't let go. The photographer was very nice and was talking to him and trying to make him feel comfy, but he was not having it. I sat him on the floor and she got him a baseball, which calmed him down. He still refused to stand or let me go. Jaime and I looked at each other and figured the session was going to be a total bust and were getting ready to leave when he finally relaxed. Michael started throwing the ball and being himself.
We were able to get some nice pictures and you can't even tell he was in hysterics only moments before. We didn't have much luck we any of the props this time, the baseball was the only thing that made him happy. He wanted nothing to do with the plane, #2, stool, or building block. When we tried, he had another melt down, so we ended the session early. I didn't even get a chance to change his outfit. And of course, when we went back to look at the pictures, he was happy as a clam, social and playing with all the props and posing. Ahhhh, it's so fun having a 2 year old! LOL
By the way, check out his shirt...I feel it's very appropriate.

Oh, how he as grown!
I was going to post Michael's 2 year photo with Mickey when it occurred to me that I have never looked at all of them together. I was crying and laughing looking at each of the pictures. My baby isn't a baby anymore, he's a big boy. A sweet, wonderful, handsome, smart, spirited two year old. He knows what he wants and is sure to communicate it as best he can (kisses, hugs, screaming, fits... LOL) Challenging is word that I have been using, Jaime uses another descriptive adjective, but we would not change it for the world.

Adventure Aquarium
On the last day of their visit, we spent the morning at Adventure Aquarium in Camden. Michael loved all the fishies and ran around like a mad man. Michael and I even got to hand feed some exotic birds. I did NOT like having to touch meal worms and dead crickets, but feeding the birds was worth it. Michael got to touch a jellyfish, a stingray and a shark. Eeek! We also love the Shark Tunnel, it's so cool to have them totally surrounding you. I also find it a bit ironic that Michael was snacking on Goldfish crackers the entire time we were there. I think he was trying to intimidate the sharks...
Down for the count...
The day after the big party, we (Jaime, Michael, Grandma Eleanor, Marina, Angelina, Amanda, Lauren and me) all went out for a nice early dinner at one of Jaime's favorite restaurants, Tierra Colombiana. Dinner was fantastic, as always and everyone enjoyed it. This is a picture of Michael and Grandma Eleanor on the 30 minute ride back home.

Michael's 2nd Birthday
Happy 2nd Birthday to my sweet, handsome, wonderful little man!!!!!
We decided on a Dump Truck themed party this year and Michael was in heaven. Jaime's Mother, sister (Marina) and three nieces (Angelina, Amanda and Lauren) also flew in from California to celebrate, which was wonderful. It was the first time that Angelina and Amanda met their cousin. The party was a lot of fun and all of the kids had a great time. Michael received a entire summer wardrobe, complete with his first pair of crocs! LOL Michael's favorite gift was the bubble mower that he received from his Papa (Great Grandpa). The wagon Jaime and I gave him came in a close second.
Michael, it has been the most wonderful 2 years of our lives. You are the best thing that has happened to us! XOXOXOXO Love Mommy and Daddy
