Easy Earbud Fix

Ever have that little rubberized piece on your earbuds break off?

I did on my beloved Blue Tooth earpiece.
So instead of sitting snuggly in my ear,
it would fall out at the slightest head wiggle, turn or shake.
Yup, I dance in the car. I admit it.

I figured I just go online and order a new piece, right?
Yeah, no.
Turns out they don't sell replacements?
WHAAAA???

I had a perfectly working device but just needed that little piece.
What to do?
Throw it away or find a better way.

Here is my little tutorial on how to replace that piece and create a
completely custom and comfy earbud experience.
I love alliteration!

Here are some pics of Jaime's Blue Tooth earpiece.
See that nice black circle surrounding the speaker?

It taunted my poor, broken Blue Tooth.

Enter in Soft Silicone!

I got mine at CVS and it costs about $2!

This is what it looks like unpackaged.
You only need a little bit for this fix, about the size of a pea.

Take the pea sized silicone and roll it out into a thin snake.

The silicone snake should be long enough to wrap around the ear piece
and have the ends touch.

Take your index and thumb and shape the silicone around the ear piece.

Tada!

The silicone is pliable so I keep my earpiece in a separate pocket in my purse.
But other than that, it's not sticky or gooey.
And it works like a charm.

If it gets to dirty, just remove and reapply a fresh piece.

Here is a side by side comparison.

My ear piece is now customized to my ear and fits perfectly!

Hope you find this helpful.

XOXO
